Some weddings just feel like one big joyful reunion — Molly and Grant’s was exactly that. From their first look in the towering redwoods to the packed dance floor that never quit, this day was a perfect reflection of their love: playful, intentional, and full of heart.

Surrounded by Molly’s tight-knit family, their wedding honored both the people and pups that mean the most to them. (Yes — Tonka and Penny did make a surprise cameo after a brief game of hide-and-seek before the ceremony, showing up in their finest wedding-day attire — a top hat for Tonka and a bridesmaid dress for Penny!)

We kicked things off with an intimate getting-ready session and a quiet photo moment at the historic Claremont Hotel — sneaking into the library and Blue Room for a little old-world charm before the day unfolded.

My assistant and I got the flower girls laughing with a few well-placed animal noises during photos, and the kids kept the energy high all day — running through the ceremony space, chiming in during a bridesmaid’s reading to explain how a picture book should be read, and basically stealing the show in the sweetest ways.

And as the sun dipped, Grant hopped behind the DJ booth, Molly joining him soon after, turning the reception into a full-on dance party — complete with guests petting their beloved pups during cocktail hour.

It was a day of big-hearted moments, joyful chaos, and a whole lot of love. And just like the way they first met — two people with their dogs at a park, braving Karl the Fog in SF — this wedding felt like the perfect mix of adventure, trust, and magic.
